Vegetables Mornay Recipe

  • 2 packages each) mixed vegetables (10 ounce packages)
  • 2 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • Dash ground nutmeg
  • Dash thyme
  • Dash garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon Accent (optional)
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Cook vegetables, drain cooking fluid into 2 cup measure. Add cream to make 1 1/2 cups of liquid. Spoon vegetables into a 4 cup baking dish. Melt butter in saucepan, stir in flour and then liquid. Cook stirring occasionally until it thickens. Boil one minute; stir remaining ingredients. Cook slowly, stirring constantly for 5 minutes. Pour over vegetables and cover.

Bake in a moderate oven at 350° for 30 minutes or until bubbly.
