Homemade Salsa Recipe

If fresh tomatoes are in season, use them otherwise canned tomatoes can be just as tasty. This salsa can be as spicy as you want it. Be sure to have plenty of tortilla chips!

  • 3 ripe tomatoes, diced, or 14.5 ounce can diced tomatoes
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper, finely chopped
  • 1 fresh jalapeno pepper, seeds and veins removed, minced
  • 1 can chopped green chilies, with juice (4 ounce can)
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Combine all of the ingredients in a medium glass bowl. Stir well with a spoon.

Cover with plastic wrap and chill until serving time.
