Sweet Potato/Apple Casserole Recipe

Ingredients
  • 3 pounds cooked sweet potatoes
  • 1 - 1 lb 14 ounce can sliced apples
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup firmly packed) brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans
Directions
Cut potatoes into slices. Arrange potato slices and apple slices in 2 quart buttered shallow baking dish. Combine flour and brown sugar. Cut in 1/2 cup butter with pastry blender. Add pepper, cream and nuts; combine with fork. Spread nut mixture over potatoes and apples. Bake on top shelf of 400° oven for 30 minutes or until topping boils. (Makes 6 to 8 servings)
