Ham and Bean Soup 9 Recipe

  • 1 package 15 bean mix (do not use ham seasoning packet)
  • 1 onion, chopped (large)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can chicken broth
  • 1/4 teaspoon sweet basil
  • 1 teaspoon Dry Mustard
  • 2 jars diced tomatoes
  • 2 cups diced pre-cooked ham
  • 1 ham bone or ham hocks (large)
  • 5 peeled carrots, chopped
  • 6 cups water
  • Salt/Pepper to taste
Rinse beans. Soak beans overnight, wash and drain. Put all ingredients in crock pot or large stock pot. Cook all day on medium heat until beans and ham hocks are tender.


You can add tomato sauce.

Add a little cornstarch for thickening.

You could put a couple of bay leaves in with the soup.

Add a couple of cubed medium potatoes.
