DEWEY'S BEER CHILI Recipe

Ingredients
  • 4 pounds ground beef
  • 8 onions chopped (medium)
  • 12 tablespoons vinegar
  • 4 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cumin
  • 4 teaspoons chili powder (or to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon ground red pepper (or flakes)
  • 2 teaspoons black pepper
  • 4 teaspoons Salt
  • 32 ounces diced tomatoes (or tomato juice)
  • 64 ounces tomato sauce
  • 64 ounces water (or to the consistency you like)
  • 2 cans Kidney Beans (15 oz. cans)
  • 2 cans chili beans (hot) (15 ounce cans)
  • 1 can beer (12 ounce can)
Directions
Brown beef and onions until beef is no longer red. Mix beef and onions with all other ingredients (except beer) until blended in large pot. Bring to a boil stirring to keep from sticking. Reduce heat to Medium and cook about 1 hour. Pour in beer and bring back to a simmer and cook for an additional hour. You can turn the heat down to low and serve when ready.
