Chili 108 Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 pound ground beef (a little more if you like meaty chili)
  • 2 quarts canned tomatoes
  • 4 teaspoons chili powder (can be adjusted for heat)
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1/2 tablespoon pepper
  • 4 dashes garlic powder
  • 4 cans kidney beans, drained (or cook your own)
  • 1 tomato sauce (large)
  • 1 tomato paste (small)
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons dried, minced onion
  • 2 tablespoons basil
Directions
Brown beef in large soup-pot. Drain fat. Add rest of ingredients. Simmer for 20-30 minutes to blend flavors. Makes enough for more than one meal. Divide leftovers and freeze in Ziploc bags. Serve with Best-Ever Bread Sticks, or saltine crackers if you're crunched for time. We like to have canned fruit as a side-dish, too.
