  • 1/2 pound spicy Italian ground sausage
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 2 russet potato, quartered, sliced
  • 2 cups kale, chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes

Brown the sausage; drain.

Combine the stock and cream in a saucepan over medium heat.

Add sausage, potatoes and kale. Add the spices and let the soup simmer for about 2 hours, stirring occasionally.

"Tasty soup. I added a bit more red pepper flakes. It was definitely spicy, but I like it that way. I made this in the slow cooker and skipped the cream. It was done in 4 hours on low."
