Sauerkraut Soup 7 Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 teaspoons butter
  • 16 ounces sauerkraut - well rinsed & drained
  • 8 cups beef broth
  • 1 can stewed tomatoes (16 ounce can)
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 teaspoon Thyme
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • pepper to taste
  • 1 cup bow tie pasta - uncooked
Directions
Melt butter, add kraut, stirring often, cook 2 minutes. Add broth, tomatoes and seasonings. Bring to a boil, cover and simmer 25-30 minutes. Remove bay leaf, add noodles, simmer uncovered 12-15 more minutes.
