SWEET AND SOUR SAUCE FOR FRESH VEGETABLES Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 cups water
  • 3 cups 5% acidity white vinegar
  • 1 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 6 cups sugar
  • 1/8 cup oil
  • salt and pepper to taste
Directions
Combine all ingredients in large pot. Bring to boil and cook 5 minutes. Pour into quart jars. Use to marinate and serve fresh vegetables throughout summer. Good on fresh produce from the garden: sliced cucumbers and onions or fresh tomatoes. Is great as a coleslaw dressing. This makes a lot of dressing and it is great to have on hand. Keeps in refrigerator for weeks.
