Barbecue Sauce 29 Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 cups packed brown sugar
  • 2 cups ketchup
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup cider vinegar
  • 1 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 1 can tomato sauce (8 ounce can)
  • 1 cup corn syrup
  • 1 cup molasses
  • 1 can tomato paste (6 oz. can)
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 tablespoon prepared mustard
Directions
In a large saucepan, combine all ingredients. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, for 15 minutes or until the flavors are blended. Remove from heat; cool. Makes about 2 quarts.

Note: This recipe is a good one for bottling. I DO NOT double or triple it for bottling but make each recipe separate. It takes a little more time this way but you are not jeopardizing the flavor by not doubling it because of the vinegar. Every time I need some sauce, I make the recipe and bottle one quart while I use the other one.
