Vegan Gravy Recipe

  • 8 tablespoons olive oil
  • 8 tablespoons whole wheat flour
  • 4 tablespoons balsamic (or other) vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons nutritional yeast
  • 2 tablespoons tamari
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 onion
  • 1/2 teaspoon sage
Heat oil over medium heat. Mince garlic and chop onion. Add to oil. When garlic and onion are clear, add flour, yeast, and tamari so that a paste results. Fold in water. Keep heat low so mixture does not burn, stirring constantly to avoid lumps. Add sage and balsamic vinegar.
