Canned Apple Pie Filling 3 Recipe

Ingredients
  • 10 cups water
  • 4 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup Clear-jel or cornstarch
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 5 1/2 pounds or 7 quart apples, peeled, cored, sliced
  • 3 tablespoons lemon juice
Directions
In large saucepan, combine sugar, Clear-jel or cornstarch, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt. Stir in hot water. Cook and stir until mixture boils and thickens. Add lemon juice; remove from heat. Add apples. Fill with hot jars; process in hot water bath for 20 minutes.
