Buttercream Frosting 13 Recipe

  • 6 powdered sugar, sifted, divided
  • 3/4 butter or margarine, softened
  • 1/4 shortening
  • 6 milk, divided
  • 1 vanilla extract
Place 3 cups sugar, butter, shortening, 4 tablespoons milk and vanilla in large bowl. Beat with electric mixer until smooth.

Add remaining powdered sugar; beat at medium speed until light and fluffy, adding more milk, 1 tablespoon at a time, as needed for good spreading consistency.

Makes about 3 1/2 cups of frosting.
