Ingredients
  • 1 9-inch pie crust
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 teaspoon oregano
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 cup onion, chopped
  • 1/4 cup green pepper, chopped (optional)
  • 1/2 cup fine dry bread crumbs
  • 4 ounces tomato sauce
  • CHEESE TOPPING:
  • 8 ounces shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

Heat oven to 425°.

Brown beef; drain.

Stir in the rest of ingredients. Spread in pastry-lined pie pan.

For cheese topping, mix together and spread over hamburger. Bake about 20 minutes.
