Corned Beef for St. Patrick's Day! Recipe

  • Ingredients
  • 1 corned beef 6-7 lbs.
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 4 bay leaves
  • Sauce
  • 2 teaspoons melted butter
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon mustard
  • 1/3 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons cider vinegar
Cover corned beef in a large pot with cold water. Add garlic and bay leaves. Cook for 3 1/2 hours on a low-medium heat.


Melt butter, brown sugar, mustard, ketchup and vinegar just before corned beef is finished boiling.

Heat oven to 350. Place corned beef in a Pyrex baking dish and cover with sauce. Bake for 25 minutes, uncovered.

Serve with potatoes or cabbage, which can be boiled as well.
