Beef Stroganoff with Sour Cream Recipe

  • 1/2 margarine, divided
  • 1 1/2 top round steak, cut into thin strips
  • 1/2 fresh mushrooms, thinly sliced
  • 1 onion, chopped fine
  • 3/4 tomato paste
  • 1 paprika
  • 1 sour cream
  • 1 lemon juice
  • 1 salt
  • 1/4 pepper
Heat 1/3 margarine until golden brown.

Add half of meat and brown on all sides.

Put in large, shallow casserole. Repeat with remaining meat.

Brown mushrooms and onions in remaining margarine. Stir in tomato paste and paprika.

Mix in sour cream and pour mixture over meat. Cover and simmer in 350° oven for 20-30 minutes.

Add lemon juice, salt and pepper and stir well.
