Pierogi Casserole Recipe

  • 1 box bow tie pasta (cooked and drained)
  • 1 or 2 onions
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2 2/3 cups potato flakes (prepared as directed on box, but omit milk)
  • 1 package cream cheese (8 ounce pkg)
  • 18 slices American Cheese
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Sauté onions in the butter 5 minutes. Prepare instant potatoes as directed on box, but omit milk. Stir in cream cheese until well blended. Spray dish with Pam, place 1/3 of the noodles to cover bottom of 9x13 inch pan. Spread 1/2 onions onto noodles then 1/2 potatoes, then layer 6 slices of cheese. Place another 1/3 of the noodles , the other 1/2 onions then the other 1/2 potatoes and cheese. The last of the noodles and cheese will go next if you choose. Bake 20 minutes or until bubbly. Let cool 5 minutes before cutting.
