Healthy Tuna Pie Recipe

  • 1 package pie crust mix (10 ounce pkg)
  • 1/3 cup sunflower seeds, chopped
  • 1/3 cup Wheat Germ
  • 1/3 cup cold water
  • Filling
  • 3/4 cup Milk
  • 5 eggs
  • 2 cans each) chunk tuna inch vegetable oil or water, well drained (7 ounce cans)
  • 1 package frozen chopped broccoli, thawed and well drained (10 ounce pkg)
  • 1 cup shredded Swiss cheese
  • 1 teaspoon onion salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon fresh ground pepper
To make crust, in large mixing bowl combine dry ingredients and mix well. Gradually add cold water. Form mixture into flat pancake and press firmly into bottom and sides of 9" pie pan. Make a rim or edge of crust. Preheat oven to 425°. Bake 10 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool on wire rack. Prepare filling: In large mixing bowl, beat milk and eggs. Add remaining ingredients, mixing well. Pour into baked pie shell. Reduce oven to 350°. Bake 50 minutes or until tip of knife inserted in center comes out clean. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.
