A snack food created with rice products in order to produce a chip that provides an alternative flavor and option to other varieties of chips. Rice Chips are made with white or brown rice, white or brown rice flour, cooking oils (typically sunflower, safflower, or corn oil), and seasonings. It is common to find the Chips made without artificial ingredients. Most often served with dips or soup and sandwiches, Rice Chips can also be used as an ingredient when broken into pieces for adding flavor and texture to salads, casseroles, and other food toppings. Rice Chips are available in many food stores, often being sold in the organic or health food sections. In addition to the natural flavor, Rice Chips are also made in with different flavors such as spicy, barbecue or others that are similar.
The nutritional percentages for this product will typically be as follows: Fat 7g/11%, Cholesterol 0g/0%, Sodium 110mg/5%, Total Carbohydrates 18g/6%, Dietary Fiber less than 1g/3%, Protein 2g. For a serving of 10 chips (1 ounce or 28 grams) there are approximately 140 calories.
