A storage device used to evenly hold bottles of wine in a manner that protects the contents of the bottle. Traditionally, wine racks have been built to position the neck of the bottle in a slightly downward direction so the cork stays moist from the contents of the bottle and does not dry out. However, as more corks have been manufactured with non porous materials or twist caps have been used instead of corks, the wine rack construction is adapting also. Wine racks are made from all types of materials such as steel, aluminum, wood, nylon, and stone. They are built as individual stacking units for only a few bottles, as racks to hold specific numbers of bottles, or as large storage units for holding and maintaining a sizeable number of wine bottles.
