A serving utensil that consists of a large round flat plate positioned on top of a pedestal with a base in order to elevate and display the food being served above the surrounding elements. This type of plate is most often used as a serving plate for desserts, cakes, and appetizers. It can also be used as a centerpiece, holding fruit or other items while decorations are positioned around the pedestal.
