A type of rolling pin used for the preparation of dough when making lefse, flat breads, pizza, and other dough-based foods. The pin is made from a hardwood, such as maple, that has ribbed grooves running around the pin shaft, closely spaced throughout the entire length of the pin. The ribs of the pin help to cut through air trapped in the dough to smooth out the mixture for baking. This kitchen utensil is also referred to as a corrugated rolling pin. The Single Cut rolling pin is also available as a mini pin, a smaller version with a handle. This utensil can be used when rolling dough into a pan or container, allowing the pin to be rolled into corners of the pan and spaces not accessible by larger versions of the pin.
