Baking Mix

A mixture of flour, baking powder, salt and shortening that are combined to form a base for making breads, biscuits, and flat cakes. There are a variety of different types of mixes that can be either purchased as a packaged mix from a food store or made with various ingredients, depending on the purpose and the type of food to be prepared.
