Caperberries
A fruit that is produced by a Mediterranean caper bush. When the plant buds, the tiny bud of the bush is harvested as a caper. If the bud is allowed to flower, it becomes an elongated fruit. This berry is brine-cured in vinegar and salt, providing a somewhat tangy and nutty taste, which is not as strong or flavorful as a caper. It is often served as an appetizer with meat, olives, cheese, and nuts, or as a complement to salads, pasta and tapas.
