Upside Down Cake - Glossary Term

A cake which is made by placing fruit in the bottom of a baking pan and then adding the batter on top of the fruit. After the cake is baked and cooled, it is removed from the baking pan by inverting the cake out onto a serving dish so that the fruit side is on top.
