A type of freshwater fish that is not a pike at all, but is a member of the perch family. Walleye Pike has firm, flaky flesh that is very mild in flavor and is suitable for many cooking methods including baking, frying, broiling, grilling, and poaching. This fish is found mainly in freshwater lakes of the northern United States and adjoining areas of Canada where the fish ranges in size from 2 to 20 pounds. A Walleye may also be referred to as a pickerel or a Walleyed Pike
