A popular Scandinavian alcoholic beverage, served hot that is made with spiced wine (mulled wine), a variety of spices, and several varieties of alcohol. There are numerous recipes consisting of many different ingredients. A common group of contents for this beverage include, red wine, brandy (or aquavit) and port, mixed with spices such as cardamom, cloves, citrus peel, raisins, and sugar. A cinnamom stick is often used to garnish the mug that holds the steaming hot beverage. Glogg is traditionally served during Christmas and Advent.
