Farina
A type of flour or meal made from almost any type of grain, nut, or starchy root, but is most often made from wheat. Farina made from wheat is produced with removal of the bran from hulled wheat kernels and then grinding the kernels into a powder. The starchy endosperm and germ are the components of the wheat that remain, resulting in a protein and nutrient-rich product. Some varieties contain only the endosperm and therefore are not as nutrient packed.

Farina is usually boiled in water to create a bland tasting hot breakfast cereal or it can be used as an ingredient in other dishes. Depending on the brand, it may require one to three minutes of cooking time.
