Combine flour and salt in a bowl and mix well. Next slowly add water, mixing as you pour to form a ball. Adding too much water may cause the dough to become sticky. Knead 7-10 minutes until dough has a smooth, yet firm, consistency. Place dough in a plastic bag to preserve moisture. The dough can be kept in the plastic bag, in the refrigerator, for up to 5 days. Have fun creating your very own images or ornaments by using common household kitchen gadgets! Pizza cutter, cookie cutters, garlic press, tooth picks and molds. This is similar to using Play Dough only you bake or air dry after creating. Baking: Heat oven to 325° - 350°. Bake on foil covered cookie sheet for easy clean up. Bake 30 minutes for each 1/4 inch of thickness or until surface is light golden brown. Air drying: Place sculptured pieces on a rack, Allow to stand 48 hours or until it has a rock-like hardness and a white limestone appearance. Finishing: Leave natural,add food coloring to dough, use water or acrylic paints or antique finishes. Make sure to apply a good coat of lacquer, varnish or acrylic sealer to both sides of the finished object.
