Crush cookies and add melted margarine; save 1/2 cup for topping. Pat in 9x13 pan and refrigerate.
Soften ice cream. Add thawed cool whip and peanut butter. Mix well, do not use an electric mixer. Spread over cookie crust and add reserved topping. Freeze and serve.
VARIATION: May drizzle chocolate syrup prior to serving.
