No Fail Meringue - Recipe

Directions
Combine 2 T. sugar, cornstarch, and water in small pan. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until mixture is thickened and clear. Cool. Beat egg whites with 1/2 tsp. vanilla until soft mounds form. Add 6 T. sugar, beating well after each tablespoon and then add cornstarch mixture. Continue beating until meringue stands in stiff peaks. Spread over pie filling and bake at 400° for 8 to 10 minutes.
