Apple and Raisin Bread Pudding - Recipe

This dessert is hard to beat even from any fancy restaurant. Serve warm with ice cream instead of the whipped cream, if you prefer. Or both if you really want to splurge.

Directions
  • 1.Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Spread 9x13 baking dish with bread pieces. Drizzle melted butter over bread. If desired, sprinkle with raisins and apples.
  • In a medium mixing bowl, combine eggs, milk, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla. Beat until well mixed. Pour over bread; press lightly until bread is covered and soaking up the egg mixture.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes, or until the top springs back when lightly tapped.
  • In a chilled bowl, beat whipping cream until soft peaks form. Add sugar and vanilla; whip until stiff peaks form.
  • Serve over warm bread pudding.
