Butter nonstick cookie pan, lay out saltines. Melt butter (one minute in the microwave). Add 1 cup of brown sugar and stir. Microwave again for about 2 minutes 45 seconds. The caramel mix will be boiling. Immediately pour over crackers. Put in oven at 400° for about 4 minutes. Careful not to scorch. Should be bubbling. Remove from oven and pour chocolate chips on top. Wait 5 minutes. Spread evenly, sprinkle with nuts and cool. Break up into pieces to serve.
"Pralines"
The same except replace saltines with graham crackers, omit chocolate and add 1 cup sliced Almonds to caramel mix and bake at 350° for 10 to 15 minutes.
