Classic Pecan Pie Bars - Recipe

Directions
CRUST:
  • Heat oven to 350ºF. Combine the flour, butter, and sugar in a large bowl. Beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  • Stir in the pecans.
  • Press crust mixture evenly onto bottom of ungreased 9- x 13-inch baking pan. Bake 18 - 22 minutes or until edges are very light golden brown.

FILLING:
  • In a small bowl, combine all the filling ingredients (except the pecans); mix well.
  • Stir in the pecans. Spread evenly over the hot partially baked crust.
  • Bake again at 350ºF for 30 to 35 minutes or until the filling is set and a knife inserted 1 inch from the edge comes out clean.
  • Cool; then cut into bars. Yield: 48 bars.

-1 1/2 cups dark corn syrup
-2/3 cup firmly packed brown sugar
-4 eggs
-6 tablespoons flour
-2 teaspoons vanilla
-1 teaspoon salt
-1 1/2 cups coarsely chopped pecans
