  • Beat egg whites until stiff.
  • Combine remaining ingredients and fold egg whites into batter.
  • Heat aebleskiver pan until hot.
  • Pour a little bit of oil into each well in the pan.
  • Spoon batter into each well.
  • Use a toothpick or an ice pick to turn the aebleskiver making it into a ball.
  • Aebleskiver is done when the outside is a light brown and an inserted toothpick comes out clean.
  • You can eat aebleskiver like a pancake, putting butter and syrup on them.
  • They are also good with powdered sugar, jam and whipped cream.
  • Danish tradition includes adding an apple to the center of the aebleskiver while you are cooking them.
