Grilled Herb Tuna Steaks - Recipe

Cooked over an aromatic bed of fresh rosemary or thyme, these quick-and-easy grilled tuna steaks are rubbed with a simple mixture of thyme, salt, and lemon pepper prior to grilling. Serve these tuna steaks with rice and grilled vegetables.

Directions
  • Preheat the grill to medium heat.
  • Coat the tuna steaks with oil.
  • In a small bowl, mix together the thyme, salt, and lemon pepper. Sprinkle this mixture generously on skinned sides of the tuna steaks.
  • Just before placing the fish on the grill, place the soaked herbs on the grill grate. Place the fish on top of herbs. Grill 3-4 minutes (depending on the thickness) on each side, just until seared on the outside but rare in the middle. (Cooker longer if you wish.)
  • Garnish with rosemary or thyme.
  • Serve with rice and grilled vegetables.

- olive oil
-2 tablespoons fresh thyme, minced
-1 teaspoon salt
-1 teaspoon lemon pepper
-2 bunches of fresh thyme, soaked in cold water for 15 minutes and drained
