Directions
  • Preheat the oven to 300° F. Mix together remaining ingredients in a saucepan. Bring to a boil and then simmer for 20 minutes on low; set aside.
  • Season ribs with salt and pepper; place on a rack in the bottom of the roasting pan; add about 1/4 inch of water to the pan.
  • Cover tightly with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 2 to 2 1/2 hours or until tender.
  • Remove from the oven and place on a medium heated grill meaty side down. Baste with barbecue sauce and grill on medium for a five minutes.
  • Turn over and baste with barbecue sauce; grill for 3 or 4 minutes and then baste again. Grill another 3 or 4 minutes and then remove from the grill.
  • Serve with extra barbecue sauce.
Alternative Cooking Method: Bake ribs for 20 minutes at 450° F. uncovered. Baste ribs with sauce and return to oven. Bake at 300° for 1 1/2 hours, basting every 20 minutes with sauce.
