Island Teriyaki

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon cracked pepper
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 1/2 pounds top sirloin steak, 1 inch thick and cut in strips 1/4 inch wide
- canned water chestnuts 
 
Teriyaki like off of a tropical island. A delicious and satisfying poultry dish for anyone looking
for a taste of paradise.
 
Directions
In a deep bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, oil, ginger, pepper, and garlic; Mix well. Add
meat and stir to coat. Let stand 2 hours at room temperature. Lace meat, accordion-style, on
skewers. Place a water chest-nut at end of each skewer. Broil over hot coals 10-12 minutes, or to
rare or medium-rare stage, turning often and basting with marinade. Place it over a bed of wild-cooked
rice with steamed vegetables if you like.
