Ingredients - 1 cup flour - 1/2 cup cornmeal - 1/4 teaspoon baking soda - 1 teaspoon baking powder - 1/2 teaspoon salt - 4 tablespoons unsalted butter - cut into 1/2 inch cubes - 1/2 cup Cheddar cheese or sweet pepper cheese - grated - 1/2 cup buttermilk Served warm, these buttery cornmeal and cheese biscuits are an excellent accompaniment for soups, stews, or salads. Preheat oven to 400°F.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or silpat.
In a large bowl stir together the flour, cornmeal, baking soda, baking powder and salt.
