Goat Cheese and Shallot Toasts Recipe

Light and easy spread for the Holidays or any special occasion.
Directions
  • Cut baguette on the diagonal 1/4 inch thick.
  • Lay in single layer on a baking sheet.
  • Bake until golden, approximately 15 minutes, flip and bake 10 more minutes. Set aside.
  • Place goat cheese in mixing bowl, mash with a fork.
  • Add 1 tablespoon of cream at a time until you have a soft consistency spread.
  • Mix in salt, shallot and 1 tablespoon of capers.
  • When ready to serve, spread cheese mixture on each baguette toast and top with a light sprinkle of capers.
  • Serve at room temperature.
  • Spread may be made up to three days in advance. Keep covered in the refrigerator.
  • Store baguettes in an airtight containter until ready to use.

- 6 tablespoons heavy whipping cream
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 shallot - minced
- 1 tablespoon capers - plus more for garnish
