Rosettes Recipe

A crispy Scandinavian pastry that can be made for Christmas celebrations or anytime this delightful sweet treat is desired.
Directions
  • Heat lard to 400° in a large saucepan.
  • In a mixing bowl, beat the egg slightly.
  • Add the remaining ingredients to the egg and beat until smooth.
  • Heat the rosette iron in the hot lard.
  • Dip the iron in the batter approximately 2/3 full.
  • Place battered iron into the hot lard and fry until golden brown.
  • Scoop out rosettes and lay them out on paper towels to drain and cool.
  • Sprinkle with granulated or powdered sugar.
