- 3 cloves garlic
- 4 whole cloves
- 1 tablespoon whole peppercorns

Directions

  • Put the corned beef in a large, heavy pot and cover with water. Add all the rest of the
    ingredients.

  • Bring water to a boil, skimming off any foam that forms on the surface. Lower heat, cover the
    pot, and simmer for 2 1/2 - 3 hours or until meat is fork tender.

  • Drain liquids off. If you like, place meat in a 300 degree oven for 10-15 minutes to dry off
    the outside of the brisket.

  • Serve warm or cold. Slice meat across the grain.
