Designed with steel that can be easily compressed, this utensil squeezes the water and tea from tea bags after being steeped. Typically constructed of stainless steel, the Tea Bag Tongs and Strainer have a solid plate attached to one end of the tongs and a perforated plate with holes on the other. As the tea bag or bags are removed from the teapot with the Tea Bag Tongs, the utensil is easily positioned in the pot to clamp onto the tea bag and manually press the solid side against the perforated side while the bag is in between. This enables the absorbed tea water within the bag to be squeezed back into the pot, thus making it an easier and cleaner way to discard of the used tea bag. This utensil is also referred to as a Tea Bag Squeezer.
