|
The type of spatula that is designed to be easily inserted beneath foods, so the food item can be lifted and placed on a plate to be served. Some serving spatulas are made mainly for utility purposes while others are designed for appearance with distinctive shapes and with finer materials such as silver plating. Pizza servers are typically made for serving slices of pizza and not for appearance purposes while pie servers are most often made for appearance and ease of use. Both the utility and the distinctive appearing serving spatulas may be manufactured with toothed edges that enable pieces of food to be both cut and served with the spatula.
