A popular South American sandwich cookie made with flour and cornstarch dough baked into round wafers. The wafers are filled with a sweet Carmel mixture and coated with sweet ingredients, such as coconut or chocolate. The filling, referred to as "dulce de leche" is made with sweetened condensed milk that is baked until thick and creamy and caramel flavored.
