Brushes made for multiple kitchen tasks. They can be used for sanitary cleaning or they can be used to clean food, such as vegetables, fruit, mushrooms, or shellfish. Kitchen brushes are available in many shapes and sizes. Their bristles may be made out of nylon, polypropylene, mesh, natural bristles, plastic, and brass. They are available with short or long handles and some do not have a handle. The type of bristles selected for use will depend on what the brush will be used for. A softer bristle would be more desirable for cleaning food in order to minimize damaging the food when it is being cleaned. A stiffer bristle would be more desirable for sanitary cleaning tasks. The brushes should not be interchanged between tasks. Use a brush for cleaning food only and a separate one for sanitary cleaning.
