Characteristics: Traditionally a round, soft, light, dry, ruby red wine. Fruity, though not sweet, ripe berry flavors with hints of licorice and almonds. Considered to be a wine with high acidity, however, it is low in comparison to most Italian wines.

Ageing: Can be consumed young, recommend ageing of 3-5 years.

Food pairings: Hamburgers, poultry without sauce, sushi with maguro tuna, corned beef, pan fried pork, salami, turkey without sauce, scallopine, pasta with light sauce, and Italian cuisine.
