A characteristic in wine that can be both desirable and undesirable. Descriptors of a yeasty wine could include dirty, earthy, nutty, gamey, and smoky. If the yeast is pronounced, it is considered an undesirable characteristic. If the yeast is barely detectible, it is considered a desirable characteristic.
