Kirschwasser

A traditional alcoholic beverage from Germany that is produced from small semisweet cherries and crushed cherry pits, to become a high quality clear brandy. Kirsch translated from German means "cherry" and wasser translated means "water." Kirschwasser is a dry form of brandy and is not the sweeter variety known as cherry brandy. In France, a similar brandy is known as eau-die-vie-de-kirsch.
