Corn Dog

A frankfurter that is traditionally placed on a stick, coated with a corn-based batter (cornmeal or cornbread), and fried or baked to create a fun snack or meal. Corn dogs are often associated with State Fairs or other similar events where they are sold as a novelty food. As this food has increased in popularity, there have been a wide variety of different products created from the original recipe. Corn dog nuggets, turkey corn dogs, vegetarian corn dogs, and corn dog casserole are all common foods developed from the original corn dog recipe. A Corn Dog may also be referred to as a Pronto Pup.
